Could you briefly introduce your role?
I am a CBAP-certified Business Analyst. My role is to understand business needs, challenge them when necessary, and structure them so they can be translated into concrete solutions. I also act as a link between stakeholders who do not always have the same expectations, constraints, or language.
What does a typical day look like in your job?
In reality, there is no such thing as a typical day for a Business Analyst, and that is precisely what makes the role so interesting. I am currently working on four projects in parallel, two in the study phase and two in the delivery phase. This variety means that I regularly switch from one topic to another throughout the same day.
I may work on scoping and analysing a business need, write specifications or tickets, and then move on to a project that is already being implemented to clarify certain points, answer the teams’ questions, or adjust what had initially been planned.
This is quite representative of the role: you constantly have to adapt to the context and progress of each project. And that is also what makes it particularly interesting.
What aspect of your job do you find the most rewarding?
I particularly enjoy starting with a topic that is still quite unclear and, through questions, analysis, and discussions, gradually making it clear and concrete. It is about understanding what really lies behind a request, rather than simply what is expressed at the outset. It is also a highly cross-functional role, which gives me the opportunity to discover a wide variety of business areas and challenges, something I find particularly rewarding.
What motivates you on a daily basis?
The variety, definitely.
Even after several years as a Business Analyst, I continue to discover new topics and learn new things. That is an aspect of the role that I particularly appreciate. I also enjoy seeing a need evolve: sometimes starting from just a few lines or an idea, then seeing it become clearer, take shape, and eventually turn into something concrete. That is a source of satisfaction and motivation in my everyday work.
