When did you start your job at Sopra Steria Switzerland?

Actually, I started working at Steria in May 2013, a couple of weeks earlier than expected. This was due to an essential virtualization project with CMWare Horizon 7, that had just started, and I had been assigned a primary role in its successful completion.
I remember, the first few weeks were a big adjustment for me since my prior consulting job entailed minimal time spent at the office and more time on site with customers. I had to get used to always working from the same location. But my team immediately welcomed me warmly and supported me perfectly during my orientation phase.

What is important to you when it comes to developing your career at Sopra Steria?

Thanks to my previous professional experience, I had already been familiar with the IT industry and understood its fundamental principles. When considering my options, Sopra Steria stood out to me due to its reputation for providing an engaging and diverse range of tasks. I was confident that this company would offer me a stimulating work environment, and I was excited to take on new challenges.
I would like to mention two challenging projects that I was in charge of. The planning, construction and software packaging of a Microsoft SCCM platform and its automated migration of 400 client system, as well as the integration of a "Microsoft Skype for Business" solution.
My motto: Stepping outside your comfort zone. Sometimes, it just takes the courage to change your perspective to go your own way. That`s why I chose Sopra Steria.

Which aspect of your job do you particularly enjoy and why?

My role at Sopra Steria has changed a lot since I started. Initially, I was focused on the day-to-day operations and technical aspects of implementing hardware and software solutions in the client/server domain. Additionally, I oversaw the services provided in our two data centers. Gradually, my role transitioned towards collaborating with external service providers in implementation projects directly at the customers` premises. During this period, I was able to leverage my extensive knowledge of the Microsoft client-server environment and my expertise in Citrix, Skype for Business, Oracle-SQL and Sharepoint to deliver maximum value to our customers. This also allowed me to get to know new technologies such as cloud solutions in the area of Microsoft Azure. I find it particularly fulfilling to keep discovering new things and it allows me to realize my full potential.

What does Freedom mean to you?

To me, freedom in my job is closely tied to the working atmosphere, which I believe should be pleasant and supportive. I thrive on interaction with my colleagues, and I consider us a close-knit family here in Switzerland. The strong camaraderie we have built helps us to work together seamlessly, even during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. Our CEO has always trusted us to work responsibly, whether from home or in the office. This level of trust is essential for maintaining a good work life balance which is important to me.
